The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) announced its new presidential line and newly elected board members for 2020-2021.
Brian J. Cole, M.D., M.B.A. has been named president of AANA for the 2020-2021 term, followed by Mark H. Getelman, M.D., as first vice president and James W. Stone, M.D., as second vice president.
Frequently chosen as a "Top Doctor" in the Chicago metropolitan area since 2003, Dr. Cole is an Associate Chairman and Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He also currently serves as the head team physician for the NBA Chicago Bulls, co-team physician for the MLB Chicago White Sox and DePaul University in Chicago. His expansive work in orthopaedics includes more than 1,000 published articles and 10 widely read textbooks in orthopaedics and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Getelman specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive reconstructive surgery in shoulder, knee and sports medicine at Southern California Orthopaedic Institute (SCOI) and serves as co-director of their fellowship program. He has published numerous articles and scientific papers on shoulder, knee and ankle topics in addition to teaching the latest arthroscopic surgical techniques to physicians both nationwide and worldwide.
A nationally recognized arthroscopic surgeon, Dr. Stone has more than 20 years of experience in orthopaedics and specializes in knee and foot and ankle arthroscopy as well as sports medicine at Midwest Orthopaedics near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In addition to his numerous guest lectureships, publications, presentations and participation in orthopaedic-related research projects, Milwaukee Magazine and other peer physicians recognized Dr. Stone as a "Top Doctor" in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
