AANA’s Diversity & Inclusion Statement

AANA is committed to supporting a diverse and inclusive membership with programming and leadership that promotes an understanding and respect for all people. We believe that diversity contributes to and influences innovation and success keeping AANA at the forefront of minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery.

AANA is dedicated to addressing the disparity and making an impact on the future of Orthopaedics. In 2020, at the direction of the Diversity & Inclusion Task Force, AANA launched several initiatives, and the organization continues to develop new ways to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment:

Future Scope

In 2022, AANA successfully launched “Future Scope: Introduction to Arthroscopy and Orthopaedics.” The biannual course series, in partnership with DePuy Synthes, The Orthopaedics Company of Johnson & Johnson, introduced underrepresented medical students to the fundamentals of orthopaedic practice. The courses include a robust agenda with lecture topics that give attendees insight into what it takes to have a successful career in orthopaedics, along with an esteemed faculty made up of leaders in arthroscopy, sports medicine and orthopaedics.

Future Scope dates:

October 1, 2022 – Park Ridge, Illinois
November 4, 2022 – Raynham, Massachusetts
August 2023 – Rosemont, Illinois (tentative)
November 2023 – Palm Beach, Florida (tentative)
