International Education Scholarship

The AANA Education Foundation will be awarding five scholarships to attend either the 2023 AANA Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, May 4-6, 2023 or a 2023 AANA Advanced Lab Course (dates listed below) in Rosemont, Illinois. Each scholarship will cover event registration and up to $2,000 in travel reimbursement.

Knee and Shoulder Arthroscopy/Arthroplasty | August 25-27, 2023

Advanced Hip Arthroscopy | November 3-4, 2023

Advanced Foot and Ankle Arthroscopy | November 3-4, 2023

Eligibility

Applicants must be:

  • An International AANA member in good standing.

  • Application must include the completed online form, a CV, personal statement (not exceeding 500 words) and letter of recommendation. The personal statement should describe why you should be selected to attend either the AANA Annual Meeting or an AANA Advanced Lab Course

AANA23 Resident Scholarship

Description

The AANA Education Foundation will award 50 scholarships for Orthopaedic Residents to attend the 2023 AANA Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, May 4-6, 2023. PGY3, PGY4 or PGY5 Orthopaedic Residents residing in the United States, Canada or Mexico during the 2022-2023 academic year and who have an interest in minimally invasive or arthroscopic surgery are encouraged to apply.

This is an exclusive opportunity to attend the AANA Annual Meeting; learn more about the latest arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques and trends; and network with leading educators and surgeons. The scholarship includes:

  • Registration to the 2023 AANA Annual Meeting and Resident/Fellow Education Track
  • Up to $550 travel reimbursement.

Please note: Members can apply for multiple scholarships throughout the year, but will only be awarded one scholarship per calendar year.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must:

  • Be an AANA member in good standing. AANA Resident Membership is free! See details and apply.
  • Be an Orthopaedic Resident in their third, fourth or fifth year of training (excluding time spent in research)
  • Be enrolled in a training program located in the U.S., Canada or Mexico
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for and have a sincere interest in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery.
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Obtain recommendation from his/her orthopaedic training program director

  • Application form and supporting material must be received by February 1, 2023. Incomplete application(s) received after this date will not be considered.
  • Application must include the completed online form, a CV, personal statement (not exceeding 500 words) and letter of recommendation from your training program director. The personal statement should describe your interest in arthroscopic surgery, what you hope to learn from the experience and how you will share what you learn.

Advanced Lab Course Scholarship

Thanks to funding from the AANA Education Foundation, AANA is offering eight scholarships (2 per course) to attend an Advanced Lab Course (see dates below) at the OLC in Rosemont, Illinois. Each scholarship will cover course registration and up to $500 in travel reimbursement.

  • Advanced Knee August 25-27, 2023
  • Advanced Shoulder August 25-27, 2023
  • Advanced Hip November 3-4, 2023
  • Advanced Foot November 3-4 2023

The Advanced Lab course features an all-star faculty will guide attendees through discussions on the latest clinical algorithms, backed by peer-reviewed publications, and cutting-edge surgical techniques. Additional learning elements include lectures by distinct expert faculty members, eight hours of hands-on cadaveric surgical labs, case-based panel discussions and pearls on how to avoid complications and ensure clinical success.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be a member of AANA in good standing.
  • Applicants must complete the scholarship application, including CV and personal statement, and provide a letter of recommendation.
  • Members can apply for multiple scholarships throughout the year, but will only be awarded one scholarship per calendar year

  • Application form and supporting material must be received by application deadline. Incomplete application(s) received after this date will not be considered.
  • Application must include the completed online form, a CV, personal statement (not exceeding 500 words) and letter of recommendation. The personal statement should describe why you should be selected to attend this event or course.
  • If you need to cancel less than 60 days before the course you have registered for, you will forfeit the scholarship.
